A1GP Racing This Sunday, 20th January 2008!

Taupo plays host once again to the A1GP. Expectations are high as New Zealand's own Jonny Reid and other drivers race on a recently modified track. Turn 12 has been modified to create more passing opportunities for the drivers - Making way more more excitement on Sunday.

Five Star Mistake

Taken from Inside Tourism Issue 664:

Teach us to comment! We were wrong when we said that Taupo's DeBretts Spa Resort is the only holiday park to be graded five star (IT663). We were swamped with HAPNZ members who pointed out that DeBretts is the ninth to gain five stars. Qualmark was unable to confirm that DeBretts was the first to gain five stars.

Taupo DeBretts Awarded 5 Star Grading

Taupo DeBretts Spa Resort has been awarded the highest grading possible (Five Stars) for their popular Holiday Park, following a rigorous assessment by Qualmark Assessors. After a two and a half hour tour of the Spa Resort and inspection of the accommodation, the Five Star grade was awarded on the 11th of October.
